Ordinaryextra

The ‘exotic’ is faded and jaded,
And extraordinary’s less so each day,
Everyone’s part of the jet set,
     Following worn weary ways.

Big ships are a menace in Venice,
     Museums are pixel‘d and worn,
Queues on Mount Everest are growing,
     Hands up –
     iPhones near temples at dawn.

But at least we have ordinaryextra,
Like raindrops quite rounded on grass,
Reflecting a whole world above them,
     Quietly, un-photographed.
